Associate Quality Engineer
Middlefield, CT
This position is a Junior level Engineer that will participate in the following:

Disposition of Non conformance and lead activities with respect to MRB

Quality Representation of customers
 Product Buy-off
 Warranty Returns
 Audits

 Able to supervise and give direction to Inspectors (I-IV)

The Associate Quality Engineer should be well versed in the use of standard inspection gaging (micrometers, Vernier calipers, shadowgraphs, pin and plug gages) as well as electronic inspection devices such as HYPOT, multimeters and voltmeters and advanced measuring devices like CMM’s, and optics Inspection analysis In addition, this position should be able to perform in-process and final inspection within the facility and be able to understand the demands of the business and prioritize inspection requirements.

Job Specific Duties:
Ability to read and understand the following:
o Blue prints
o Zygo specifications
o GD&T
o Special process instructions
o Inspection check lists
o Sampling Plans
o MIL Standards

Ability to use basic gaging (Micrometers, Pin/Plug Gages, Vernier Calipers, Hypot, Multimeters, voltmeters)

Computer literate:Ability to access documentation within the ZYGO Intranet:
 Drawings/Specifications
 FAST’s (Non-conformances)
 Waivers

Effective communications both written and oral

Work in a 6S environment

Ability to prioritize inspection requirements as they relate to the business needs

Ability to inspect using open set up techniques

Ability to Interpret FAI documentation

Position Requirements:
Associate Engineering Degree
Bachelors is a plus

  • 0-3 years of Quality or related Engineering Experience
  • CMM Programming a plus
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of GD&T, basic inspection skills
