SCS Engineers is seeking a mid- to senior-level air quality compliance professional in one of our Southwestern US offices (CA, NV, UT, or AZ) to perform various activities related to our solid waste and industrial air quality/greenhouse gas (GHG) consulting practice. The ideal candidate will be experienced, self-motivated, embrace teamwork, and have the desire to grow and develop our landfill and industrial air quality, practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A mixture of office and field work expected, with an emphasis on office work
Some work-related travel will be necessary but usually limited to a single day and short trips.
Air permitting and compliance work, with focus on permitting and compliance support for solid waste facilities.
Air testing, sampling, and monitoring
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) air impact assessments
Document preparation, calculations, modeling, proposals, and business development related to the above-listed work
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially emission calculations
Microsoft Office proficiency
Understanding of laboratory analytical procedures
Sample collection, especially air sampling and monitoring equipment and techniques
Knowledge of environmental modeling, especially air quality; AERMOD proficiency highly desired
Air Quality Impact Analysis (AQIA) development, including understanding of state and federal guidance, exposure assessment techniques and models, and risk calculations
In–depth knowledge of air quality, GHG, and CEQA regulations and guidance
Master’s Degree (or Bachelor's with significant experience) in physical sciences, engineering, or related subject required
3-7+ years of related air quality compliance experience required
HAZWOPER training completed and up to date desired
Valid driver's license with driving record in good standing required
Basic understanding of environmental regulations required
