The Hasbro Gaming organization is seeking a Project Engineer to join their Engineering team!
In this position you will be responsible for the engineering development of select product lines ensuring quality, cost and schedule adherence. You will utilize your problem-solving, engineering and computer skills to lead products through the full development cycle, from initial concept through production start. You will interface with diverse cross-functional teams at our Rhode Island headquarters, communicate with product development partners in our Hasbro’s Far East offices, and will work directly with manufacturers in the US and Ireland.
Additionally, you will identify and implement innovative methods and solutions that will deliver on product objectives by providing the most cost-effective engineering direction. As an Engineer in Gaming, you will develop experiences for consumers that are outside of the traditional Hasbro consumer set and functionally lead identification and resolution of any related challenges. As part of the development team, you will be actively involved in defining the initial product, developing and defining creation specifications, and you will participate in the decision-making processes.
A day in the life of a Project Engineer in Hasbro Gaming…
Under direction of a Senior Engineer, lead the overall project and technical development efforts of multiple products ensuring quality, cost and schedule adherence.
Perform technical feasibility assessment on new product concepts.
Run the engineering design of new parts and products.
Collaborate with development team, including Design, Marketing and various technical support groups.
Complete product specifications packages and detailed engineering documentation for products (including regional variants.)
Lead communication with internal and external cross-functional teams, including domestic and overseas development counterparts and manufacturing vendors, on all product engineering related topics.
Perform preliminary cost estimates and manage cost and source selection throughout the product development process to ensure product cost delivers on required profit goals
Generate engineering related project schedules based on product complexity, performance objectives and reliability requirements.
Review engineering pilot samples and support domestic and Far East manufacturing vendors to debug new parts and products.
Actively seek ways to continually improve design efficiencies and/or processes while meeting or exceeding established industry quality standards.
Work directly with and travel to domestic manufacturing facilities throughout the development process as needed.
What you’ll bring…
BS Engineering Degree, Mechanical preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered.
3+ years’ experience preferred. Ideal experience working in consumer product development. Co-op/internship experience considered.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize projects, creative problem solve and contribute effectively in a team environment.
Ability to collaborate with and effectively influence cross-functional teams in the US and globally.
Exceptional organization, interpersonal and communication skills.
Attention to detail and exceptional follow up skills.
Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook. Photoshop/Illustrator skills helpful.
Familiarity with 3D Modeling software, SolidWorks preferred
