We are seeking a Controls Engineer for our Corporate Office in Auburn Hills, MI.
Responsible for engineering, development, documentation and implementation of automated equipment used to assemble, process, test and/or manufacture CSP products while working in a team environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Work with all CSP facilities to standardize and update machine standards and keep up to date.
Apply electrical and electronic theory and related knowledge to design, build, repair, calibrate, and/or modify electrical components, circuitry, controls and machinery.
Review equipment electrical drawings and controls at design review.
Work with product launch teams to develop automation systems.
Assist Product Launch teams with start-up of equipment through debugging and troubleshooting.
Review product improvement ideas and recommend action to implement them.
Maintain all electrical and electrical upgrades on software and in hard copy in an orderly manner.
Maintain back-up files for all PLC and Robotic programs in an orderly manner.
Define production process parameters to ensure products meet customer specifications.
Implement production processes with continuous improvement.
Create documentation for production support and data collection.
Develop training programs and materials for Technicians.
Coordinate safety efforts with Safety Representative.
Select vendors for equipment and production materials with the Manufacturing Engineers.
Develop and issue criteria to vendors for items supplied.
Recommend stock items and quantities for equipment spare parts and production materials.
Recommend preventative maintenance items and schedules for equipment.
Initiate work orders for equipment problems.
Establish area goals to support production and strategic initiatives.
Develop, document, and provide for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, production, and quality.
Support IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 initiatives.
Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
Five years of experience controls engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Must have knowledge and experience in the following:
Allen Bradley PLC
Robotic integration (preferably with Fanuc)
Robotic Water Jets
OSHA Safety Standards
Travel is 50-75% to CSP Plants in US and possibly Mexico.
