The Identity & Access Management Engineer is responsible for creating, maintaining and supporting Identity & Access Management systems, processes and procedures which deliver enterprise-wide identity, access, and authentication services for the Sanford workforce. The Identity & Access Management Team is responsible for ensuring that the right people have access to the right systems at the right time and for the right reasons. The Identity & Access Management Engineer is responsible for creating, maintaining and supporting Identity & Access Management systems, processes and procedures which deliver enterprise-wide identity, access, and authentication services for the Sanford workforce. The IAM Engineer ensures the timely completion of access requests for Sanford employees and non-employees through automated and manual processes. The IAM Engineer’s technical and engineering expertise will be critical for contributing to our IAM team for implementing and supporting Sanford’s modern Identity & Access Management program architecture, infrastructure, capabilities, components and standards. Specifically, you will be responsible for contributing to IAM component designs, IAM service development, service integration, implementation and operations of Sanford’s IAM services for all staff, students, vendors, and Sanford partners. This position collaborates closely with Information Security management, architects, and service providers to implement the IAM Program modernization efforts for Sanford.
Ensure the timely provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts and access permissions to Sanford and third-party systems and applications using automated and manual processes.
Monitor and maintain IAM systems processes and work queues to ensure proper systems function and access request fulfillment.
Creates and maintains user documentation and training materials related to access request processes.
Perform data cleanup and facilitate access reviews, report results, and escalate issues as appropriate to management.
Helps drive continuous process improvement related to identity and access management systems and related processes.
Identifies and develops birthright roles and access rights.
Partner with Technology Solutions and other clinical/business teams to enhance provisioning and access management processes
Bachelor’s degree in cyber security or an information technology related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and customer service skills
Strong understanding of Active Directory objects and structures
Understanding of Identity Lifecycle Management, Access Lifecycle Management, and Credential Management preferred
Exceptional attention to detail
Understanding of identity and access management concepts, such as SAML, RBAC, Federation, user directories, Single Sign-On, privileged access management, and multifactor authentication preferred
