Enbridge is looking for Engineers in Training and they are given the opportunity to work in various departments throughout Ontario in 18 months rotations through the Engineering Professional Development Program (EPDP). These opportunities will shape their professional development while offering consistent and comprehensive training for a Professional Engineering designation.
Note: We have 7 EIT roles.
What You Will Do
New Engineers in Training can expect to start in the Engineering Department, where they will be responsible for:
Completing technical projects and assignments that support distribution system integrity, using sound technical knowledge and engineering principles, providing support to Corporate and Regional departments on matters of policies, procedures and practices.
Evaluating and providing recommendations for approval and implementation of new products, tools, and equipment.
Performing engineering analysis on our pipeline system, by applying knowledge of stress analysis, fluid mechanics, metallurgy, welding, or corrosion.
Engineers in Training can expect to spend a rotation in Regional Operations, where they will be responsible for:
Conducting technical analysis using risk assessment principles (station failure, pipeline failure, material failures, repair vs. replace scenarios, operating issues, etc.).
Providing design and project management support for projects (design, layout, material selection, cost estimates, capital requisitioning, material ordering, scheduling, etc.).
Working with internal/external stakeholders (Engineering, municipalities, developers, etc) to complete load analysis on pipelines, execution of crossing agreements, and management of key project deliverables.
Supporting Regional Operations frontline field staff with customer station configurations, deviation approval coordination with Stations Engineering, and submission of red line drawings.
Who You Are
You have the following education & experience:
Recent or soon to be graduate from an Engineering program with any of the following subject areas: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Materials.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for writing technical documents, responding to inquiries, and presenting issues to multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Candidates must demonstrate effective organization skills, be results-oriented, show innovation in their problem solving and decision making, have the ability to work on project teams and take initiative.
Potential candidates must be able to quickly understand the impacts of technical and operational issues and provide a safe, thorough, and accurate response to all inquiries.
