We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our User Fraud team. Our mission is to accelerate Spotify’s growth by developing a system that detects, mitigates, and prevents unwanted behavior on our platform.

In a highly collaborative organization, you will work cross-functionally with machine learning engineering, data science and product management to solve some of the most advanced and important abuse problems that we face at scale. In this role, you will see a direct correlation between your work and company wide metrics and data quality. Beyond this, you will work with some of the brightest minds and you’ll have a unique opportunity to solve some of the most interesting data challenges around abuse and integrity, at a scale that few companies can match. What You'll Do:
Architect and execute large-scale data engineering projects and setting technical roadmaps
Configure complex data systems involving both batch and real-time data pipelines, while evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within systems
Optimize pipelines, frameworks and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts
Deliver scalable, testable, maintainable and high-quality code
Use tools like Scio, Google Cloud Platform, Scala, Bigquery, Luigi, Styx and Docker
Learn about the domain of abusive behavior and take part in strategizing solutions to combat such behavior
Keep up to date with potential fraud that can happen on the platform by advertisers, artists, users and come up with ways to detect and prevent it
Collaborate with engineers, data scientists and product managers to understand data needs and build solutions together
Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact
Mentor team members by giving and receiving actionable feedback
Who You Are:
BS/MS in CS or other technical/scientific fields of study
5+ experience in big data pipelines design, implementation and maintenance
5 + experience designing data models and schema
Experience in large scale distributed data processing
Strong coding skills in Scala, Java, or Python
Experience analyzing large datasets to identify gaps and inconsistencies
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
You are an enthusiastic learner; you see unfamiliar territories as an opportunity to grow

You value building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and have the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
Working as a data engineer in the User Fraud area will challenge your design, quality, and problem-solving skills to build robust and scalable solutions.
