Design and develop Printed Circuit Boards, (PCB). Will lead the PCB design effort requirements from schematic capture to PCB layout. Exercise discretion and independent judgement and mentor and lead other members of the engineering staff in the area of PCB schematic capture and layout.
Develop schematics and design printed circuit board layouts that comply with Mechanical, EMC, and Electrical form, fit, and functional requirements.
Interface with mechanical and electrical engineering groups to establish physical and electrical parameters to meet packaging requirements.
Generate and check all assembly drawings, parts lists and output files for the complete fabrication of printed circuit boards including Gerber files, IPC netlist, drill files, etc.
Generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and all supporting documentation for board release.
Participate in PCB design reviews.
Interface with board houses to resolve technical issues.
Resolve technical issues related to PCB designs and assists design groups with solutions.
Generate documents using Altium CAD software for schematic, assembly, bill of materials, and fabrication drawings.
Maintain and define Altium library symbols and footprints per electrical engineering guidelines.
Research and implement new techniques and technologies to stay current on industry PCB design practices.
Mentor other PCB designers and junior staff.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Understand, analyze and troubleshoot placement and routing techniques for routing high-speed busses, RF and power.
A firm understanding of component placement concepts and routing techniques for signal integrity and EMI/EMC considerations.
Experience working in a fast-paced engineering environment and recognize/promote issues that will cause project delays.
Experience interfacing with the customer, Program Management and Project Engineer lead to resolve design issues.
Ability to manage multiple projects and see companywide design issues to resolution.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently to develop solutions.
Ability to work on tasks as assigned when given proper guidance goals.
Perform other functions as needed to support the company’s goals.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 7 years of professional experience in PCB Layout.
Applicable knowledge of Schematic capture and layout software tools, Altium Nexus preferred.
Demonstrable experience in PCB design including the following technologies PCIe 4, PCI Express, DDR4, High Speed SERDES, HDMI, USB 3.1, SATA, Low Noise Power Supplies, Mixed Signal designs.
Demonstrated experience in PCB design for production of high reliability DoD products and systems.
Understanding of IPC Standards for Library parts, Printed Circuit Design and Manufacturing.
Ability to obtain/maintain a US Government Security clearance.

Hours 7:30 – 5:00, 9/80 Monday through Thursday; Friday 7:30-4:00; occasional off shift hours as needed
