Ballard's Manufacturing Engineering Team has a position available for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Burnaby facility.
The successful candidate will:
Design, develop, implement and troubleshoot new and existing manufacturing processes;
Specify, procure, commission and qualify new equipment;
Identify and justify projects to improve manufacturing capability, yields, productivity and capacity;
Manage drawings, shop floor work instructions/build sheets, process flows, plant layouts, material handling and quality control systems; and
Design, specify and commission tools, jigs, fixtures and tests.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred); P. Eng. designation preferred
Solid modeling experience (Pro-E preferred)
1-3 years directly related experience in a hands on manufacturing environment
Mechanical assembly process experience preferred
Experience using APQP elements – PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan
Experience in tooling design
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization skills
The successful candidate should have a track record leading projects and developing and implementing new processes. Experience in process design and continuous improvement projects using tools and methodologies such as QFD, FMEA, DOE, SPC and Error Proofing is preferred.
