Bradley Support Engineer

This position will be located in Sterling Heights, MI. We may consider other Combat Vehicles sites as well, such as York, PA; or Aiken, SC.

BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a mechanical engineer or industrial engineer to support the Bradley A4 production program. The candidate will be part of the team that supports the ongoing production launch activities of the Bradley ECP2 upgrade. This includes resolution of plant issues and supplier questions. When the initial production activity slows, longer-term improvements to the Bradley vehicle will be evaluated, formalized and released. Areas of the vehicle that will be covered by this role include structures, survivability and auxiliary systems.

Heavy travel expected for first 6-9 months of this position, then the travel will reduce and longer-term design activities will take over.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
Degree in Engineering required, such as Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Must be proficient with a 3-D CAD system.
Vehicle engineering experience, including print markups and releasing.
Basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing knowledge.
Familiarity with machine shop tools and processes.
Good written communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Education
Combat Vehicle engineering experience
Proficient in CREO
Custom vehicle build experience
Part fabrication or machine shop experience
Welding experience/knowledge
Root cause analysis experience
Product launch experience
