SEA CORP has a need for a full-time Payload Control System Test Engineer supporting our Combat Control Systems group in the Newport, RI area.

Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.

Successful candidates will be responsible for AN/BYG-1 Payload Control System test and evaluation for current and future SSN payloads. Candidates will be responsible for system operation in lab environments with tactical and simulated subsystems. The positions will require use of DOORS to develop and maintain test procedures as well as record test results. Successful candidates will be able to provide knowledge, guidance, and support to the Test and Evaluation team; understand changing requirements and impacts to system operation; have an understanding of the subsystems operation and interfaces; understand system requirements and software build plans. Candidates will be responsible for documenting issues in Program Trouble Reports, aid in the investigation of problems and verify developed solutions. Potential candidates can also expect to assist with test and evaluation and perform validation/verification of the AN/BYG-1 PCS system as well as support test events, aid in investigating software and interface problems, document software deficiencies and test environment issues.
Education and Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have US Naval submarine experience in some of the following positions: Fire Control Technician (FT), Sonar Technician Submarine (STS), Information Systems Technician (ITS), Electronics Technician - Comms (ETR), Electronics Technician - Nav (ETV) with a understanding of US Navy Submarine Combat Systems (BYG-1 WCS/PCS.) preferred.
In lieu of military experience, a Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field and a minimum of one year’s professional experience working with the AN/BYG-1 combat system is required.
A minimum of an active Secret clearance is required for this role.
