Day to Day Role:
Monitor and improve machine process, develop work instructions and train employees
Participate in implementing safety improvements
Design, program, analyze and repair electrical drives and control units including configuring PLC motor controls and electrical protection
Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting Programmable Electronic Systems
Participate in projects that support in reducing downtime and scrap
Modify control system logic and industrial machinery to optimize equipment performance and control
Investigate operational problems affecting production in a systematic and methodical manner
Work with the Maintenance team to improve the skill level of the electricians
Works with maintenance department to ensure preventative and predictive maintenance compliance
Programs software to configure and/or make modifications to automated systems and process control systems, which will include maintaining a backup library of PLC and other instrumentation software
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Requires one of the following:
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experience, OR
Associate’s degree and nine (9) years of related engineering experience
Experience designing, developing, implementing and troubleshooting motion control systems, including variable frequency drives and servo control
Experience designing, developing, implementing and troubleshooting electrical control systems such as PLC, relay logic, and control networks, production equipment automation, and industrial controls networks
Experience using and programming controls software
Experience using HMI and Ladder Logic
Experience with 5S procedures
