The key function of this role will be lower Radian's risk to security-related threats, by eliminating security vulnerabilities in our server infrastructure. There will be three areas of focus concentrating on Patching and Vulnerability Remediation of: 1) 3rd party applications across the entire organization. 2) All Radian AWS servers. 3) All Five Bridges Advisors servers. These three areas of will allow for aggressive, constant focus to drive down our risk.
The Windows Systems Engineer is responsible for the deployment, maintenance and support for assigned operating systems (O/S) and commonly associated software and hardware components, spanning pre-production and production infrastructures, providing system infrastructure for Radian business solutions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Maintaining and deploying systems by installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of hardware, operating systems and assigned application software.
Monitor and manage system performance, including triage and resolution activities for performance related incidents, customer request and/or identified trends.
Monitor and manage Incident/Request/Change queue(s) (INFRA), initiating appropriate actions as required Initiate, submit and execute change requests for assigned systems Initiate and manage vendor support and coordinate required support actions.
Assist in technical direction discussion(s) and planning within team and outside team.
Represent technical areas on project teams.
Perceived and demonstrated SME for specific areas/technologies.
Provides upgrade recommendations and supporting rationale.
Contribute to the development of DR/BCP related materials.
Participate in DR/BCP related tests and events.
Participate in audit and related regulatory compliance analysis and remediation efforts.
Provide off-hours production and, at times, development system support.
Execute recovery and BCP requirements resulting from DR/BCP declarations
Development of system appropriate documentation.
System programming (installation, configuration, customization and integration) of Windows operating system and related system level software
System knowledge and hands-on engineering experience (deployment, configuration, customization and integration) of HP Proliant (and associated) hardware components and systems
System knowledge and hands-on experience (deployment, configuration, customization and integration) with Virtual machines hosted on VmWare ESX host.
General proficiency in network and storage system and associated system software.
Has in-depth system knowledge and experience on the following application layers: Microsoft’s Active Directory, email, DNS, DHCP, & File and Print Services.
Has excellent customer skill and communication and writing skills.

Technical: 5 - 8 years
Education and Credentials
Required: Associate/Technical Degree, Concentration in Computer Science
Other Certifications: Microsoft System Certifications
