The purpose of this role is to provide a technical resource to coach and assist the operations team optimize and improve EH&S, throughput, product quality, reliability of supply and cost performance. Enables the asset to meet EHS&S, productivity and quality goals as the expert on the daily operations of the asset of responsibility. This role also enables the asset to realize the portfolio vision by executing the Asset Technology Plan by delivering manufacturing technology solutions.

Serves as a Unit Engineer & Asset Technology Engineer for the unit:
Unit Engineer responsibilities:
Optimize plant operations and develop high performing operations team.
Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology.
Uses continuous improvement and troubleshooting methodology where appropriate for resolution of production challenges.
Work with plant personnel to optimize operations and meet business goals (production, cost, quality).
Owns/participates in effective root cause investigations to prevent recurrence of unplanned events.
Participates in implementation of the Operational Excellence Model (process qualification training for operations team).
Has a full understanding of Quality and Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures with the ability to translate them to implementation in the plant.
Participates in and leads teams in his/her area of accountability.
Scopes and implements small projects in line with their area of responsibility.
May act as a manufacturing representative for projects in their area of responsibility.
May fill one or more of the roles of Asset Technology Focal Point, Production Coordination Focal Point, Process Safety Focal Point and Turnaround Coordination Focal Point in line with plant needs and employee development goals
Asset Technology Engineer responsibilities:
Understanding the portfolio technology vision and its applicability to the associated assets.
Measuring the current asset technology performance, quantifying and prioritizing gaps.
Analyzing gaps and identifying causes.
Identifying the best solution. Estimating the early stage cost, benefit and staffing needs.
Obtain stakeholder support for technology projects.
Providing project leadership to drive knowledge-based solutions using the appropriate methodology (e.g. LEAN Six Sigma, Fundamental Problem Solving, Value Accelerator).
Controlling and sustaining improvements as project implementation leader.
Ensuring technology learnings from prior campaigns are documented and incorporated in subsequent campaigns and new technology opportunities.
Collaborating with plant team to provide technology expertise in support of process safety management programs.
Leading the Asset Technology Team to support the ATIIP process.
Partnering with operations for complex troubleshooting as appropriate
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
4 year college degree in chemical engineering.
Strong leadership and coaching skills.
Desire to engage with operating team to fully understand issues from their perspective and set them up for success.
High degree of ownership
Three years of relevant technical experience preferred.
