Your Challenge

EXP is currently searching for a Project Structural Engineer to work in our Chicago, IL office.

Your Responsibilities

Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes; perform structural analysis using SAP2000, SAFE, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, Bentley Software and S-Frame; perform material quantity take-offs; analyze existing building structures for applied external loads, determine internal forces, stresses, and capacities, and provide structure reinforcing solutions; prepare design and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit and BIM; prepare construction specifications, design calculations, technical and investigative reports; assist with field inspection, analysis, and report writing for condition assessment of existing structures; assist with planning and schematic/geometric layout of new structures; organize design calculations; assist with project construction administration including submittal reviews and requests for information. 5% domestic & international travel required.

The Skills and Knowledge You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field plus 2 years related experience. Required skills: Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes; perform structural analysis using SAP2000, SAFE, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, Bentley Software and S-Frame; analyze existing building structures for applied external loads, determine internal forces, stresses, and capacities, and provide structure reinforcing solutions; prepare design and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit and BIM; prepare construction specifications, design calculations, technical and investigative reports. Engineer Intern License required. 5% domestic & international travel required.
