About the Opportunity:
The Department of Bioengineering at Northeastern University invites applications for tenured or tenure-track appointments at the assistant, associate or full professor level. This search continues a multi-year expansion of the Department of Bioengineering. We seek individuals who can apply innovative methodologies and uncover novel design principles and strategies to engineer biological systems and create impactful solutions to emerging societal problems in the areas of alternative energy, sustainability and health. We seek exceptional candidates in the area of Computational Bioengineering. Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to: imaging, neuroengineering, and systems bioengineering. Candidates should be committed to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.
Exceptional candidates in all areas of Bioengineering will be considered. The successful candidates will demonstrate a proven ability to sustain a research program with emphasis on interdisciplinary and translational research, teach both undergraduate and graduate classes, and be active, recognized leaders in their disciplines.
A doctorate degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, physics or related field is required by the start date. Outstanding candidates at all levels will be considered. Successful candidates will be expected to develop strong independent research programs with emphasis on interdisciplinary and translational research and to excel in teaching in both our undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful senior candidate should be an established researcher with a strong record of funding, peer-reviewed publications, and technical leadership.
