Develops and implements innovative educational programs that create ways for older adults to Age Well. The Curriculum Developer and Facilitator develops stimulating and innovative programs related to wellness (e.g. lifelong learning, physical and emotional wellness, social engagement). The Curriculum Developer and Facilitator also serves as facilitator in implementing these programs online and in-person, as well as trains others to implement them.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops innovative programs promoting wellness for older adults for use both within Mather and with external organizations. Works closely with project staff and external partners to assess the educational and wellness program needs of older adults, including content development/revisions, program integrity, and program evaluation.
  • Conducts training for older adults online and in community-based settings both throughout Mather as well as in organizations replicating Mather initiatives throughout the nation. This includes conducting training for existing programs (e.g. Wellness Coaching, Digital Literacy, brain health) , and training/research programs to be developed.
  • Trains and supports others who may facilitate Mather programs, such as aging services providers at Chicagoland community-based organizations. This includes developing facilitators for existing programs (e.g., Wellness Coaching, Digital Literacy, brain health) and training/research programs to be developed.
  • Serves as liaison to community-based organizations and other potential partners, associations, and professionals in order to foster new wellness initiatives and develop local, regional and national partnerships. Promotes Mather programs and products through networking strategies and conference presentations.
  • Supports Mather team through identifying and promoting opportunities for future programs and products, including identification of trends. Contributes to dissemination including articles, webpage, newsletters and other media.
