Position: Machine Shop Manager

Reports to: President and CEO

Mission Statement: The Machine Shop Manager will have at least five years of prior CNC Supervisory experience and five years? experience as a Machine operator, along with palletized tooling experience. As Manager of the Machine Shop team, you?ll work with experienced CNC programmers and operators and oversee the quality-centered machining techniques that have made us an industry leader for over 50 years.

Location: Wayland, MI - Manufacturing Facility

Category: Exempt employee, full time

Shift: First (7:00 am ? 3:30 pm)

Pay: Commensurate with experience

This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with palletized tooling, scheduling work, leading a team of machine operators, monitoring operator part quality, and maintaining perishable tooling stocks for a machining operation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Implementation of special projects as established by management
Schedule jobs in coordination with our Production Control team.
Perform CNC machine setups
Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
Must meet ITAR requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvements ? strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point
Experience with Palletized Tooling
Strong organizational and people handling skills. Strong team building expertise
Strong communication skills at all levels in the organization
Other skills that would demonstrate flexibility, resource utilization and root cause analytical skills
Ten years? experience in a machine shop environment with exposure to various machining processes, tooling, programming, equipment, and products/materials
