HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
In your role as a Global Engineering Intern at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by:
Planning and executing – You will be part of assigned product, process and packaging development projects that are tied to real-business needs.
Organization is Key – As a Global Engineer Intern, analyzing equipment data that is needed to support scope commitments as well as process definition and process scale-up efforts will become part of day-to-day activities.
The Bottom Line – Assisting in analysis, discovery and execution of production line efficiency and sustainability improvements to increase production rate, reduce waste and reduce our environmental impact is another great experience you will have this summer. Continuous Improvement anyone?
Your seat at the table – Part of your internship will consist of participating in lab work with Kellogg Engineers, pilot plant runs and production plant trips to gain equipment information, performance data and layout development, and gather process and product information. This internship may also take you to plants outside of Michigan, travel can range up to 40%.
What Else? – You also have the opportunity to assist with development of detailed flow diagrams and support equipment design to improve line capabilities.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Student must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior status in one of the following Engineering Bachelors programs: Mechanical, Biosystems, Agricultural, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical.
Minimum of 3.0 GPA (cumulative)
Strong math and analytical skills
Ability to demonstrate creative yet practical problem solving skills
Ability to learn new things quickly, often “on-the-fly” with technical manuals or experienced help
Strong communication skills, both written and orally
Previous internship experience, leadership roles in school/volunteer clubs/organizations
Humility and hunger to learn
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
As part of the Kellogg Internship program, you will participate in a corporate onboarding orientation at our Kellogg World Headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan (Cereal City, USA!). This event consists of executive exposure, previous intern panels, networking events, community activities and much more.
This paid internship requires a 12-week, full-time commitment starting May 2021. Relocation advising and sign-on bonus provided – and did we mention we have plenty of snacks? This role is located in Battle Creek, MI and requires a 3-month commitment (May 10th- July 30th). The summer concludes with a Final Showcase event and presentation to functional leaders.
Please note – should the COVID-19 pandemic continue to impact the in-person work environment, our internship experience will be moved to a virtual platform for summer 2021.
