Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer 1

As a Manufacturing Engineer 1, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in our process and documentation on production and development programs. In addition, you will ensure that products are designed for ease of manufacturability and are successfully rolled out to manufacturing. This includes providing design inputs early in development, providing cost analysis and executing pilot runs. The design and implementation of product test fixtures and tooling is also a key aspect of the job.
This position supports the Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division, which specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.
Initiate and review manufacturing work flow and processes/procedures such as:
Rework and modification instructions
Special process instructions
Standard repair instructions
Disposition incoming and in-process product nonconformance’s
Maintain and present manufacturing performance metrics
Design jigs/fixtures to assist fabrication technicians
Investigate and implement manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
Review engineering drawings for the Manufacturing Department.
Other duties as assigned
Able to obtain and maintain DoD clearance and additional clearances as required
Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering field
Minimum of 0-2 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering
Experience or knowledge of multiple manufacturing methods, specifically in composites, metals, and electronics.
Proficient in technical writing
CAD software experience: Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Preferred Additional Skills:
Existing Secret or TS clearance with current 5 year update
Experience with a Manufacturing Execution System
Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Experience with 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing
Experience with Visual Basic and basic Computer Science concepts
Experience/certification in lean practices; 5S, six sigma, etc
Experience in aviation or military systems manufacturing preferred
Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
