Evoqua Water Technologies is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO.
Responsible for Process & Mechanical Engineering design of Industrial Water Treatment Products and Systems. Candidate will work in cross functional teams as well as perform work as an individual.
Focal areas will include:
Piping design, tank design, vessel design, sizing and selecting pumps, sizing and selecting valves, and selecting analytical equipment to support process design. The candidate will work directly with 3D design to develop virtual assemblies of skid mounted equipment. The candidate will work with other departments and outside vendors to specify components for Purchasing, and define Manufacturing requirements and interface with customer representatives on technical issues. The candidate will support realization of equipment designs. The individual must utilize SAP for loading and releasing Bills of Materials.
- Successful completion of a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering BS Degree
- 2-5 years of related experience is preferred
- Industrial manufacturing experience related to the development and generation of mechanical engineering drawings and associated bills of material.
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics (water specific) including: pump curve analysis, piping system pressure drop analysis, and material compatibility.
- Perform Engineering Design calculations and have working knowledge of industrial codes for; ASME B31.1, “Power Piping”, ASME B31.3, “Process Piping” and ASME Section VIII, “Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code”
- Knowledge of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD platforms (Solidworks and Inventor) is a plus
- Able to execute individual tasks and lead mechanical project team.
- Water treatment process knowledge is an asset
o Specifically Ion Exchange and Membrane Filtration

- SAP business system experience also an asset.
Participates in material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up. Provides support in design, development, testing and modifications of solutions. Provides support in preparing explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data. Participates in communicating technical and commercial issues. May participate in recommending new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements.
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
