The Senior Programmer Analyst within the Applications and Systems division of the Information Services Department is responsible for designing and developing high performance data integration and work-flow solutions. The candidate will adhere to programming standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; identifies work process improvements and implements new technology. A Senior at Healthfirst provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. His/her solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

The Senior Programmer Analyst develops and translates designs and specifications into various systems following programming standards. Demonstrates a proficiency in at least one of Healthfirst’s programming languages (i.e., SQL. Server Integration Services (SSIS) or TSQL) while facilitating the transition of programs from development into production.
Participates in the analysis, definition and documentation of system requirements. Leads the creation and documentation of solution designs that are in line with the existing Healthfirst technical environment.
Performs tests on various systems and units, creates test scenarios and performs code maintenance to ensure quality control standards are met.
Researches and evaluates software and hardware systems to enhance the development of the environment as well as processes.
Creates deployment packages and deployment related documentation.
HS Diploma or GED from an accredited is institution
4 years of Health Insurance IT Technical Experience
Experience and knowledge of PowerMHS or PowerStepp File Structure
Experience and knowledge of AS400 iSeries and CL Programming
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Suite (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio and Project.)
Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL), Server Integration Services (SSIS) or Transact-SQL (TSQL) computer languages.
Experience in analyzing, defining and documenting system requirements.
Experience in creating, implementing, translating and testing scenarios using specifications for existing technical environments.
Experience performing root cause analysis to find errors as well as making revisions.
Ability to work independently or in a team setting that is a fast paced/changing environment, while demonstrating the level of detail required to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
Ability to think critically to solve problems.
Ability to drive daily tasks that align to our business goals.
Ability to work in a team environment that fosters continuous learning.
Knowledge and experience using C# programming language.
Ability to learn new systems, platforms and concepts.
Familiarity with Mulesoft/Informatica
Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture
Familiarity with Cloud Based Development (AWS)
