CREEK TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a full time, on-site Blackboard Database Administrator in support of the Lifelong Learning Center (LLC) Technical Support for the Army Training Support Center, located in Fort Eustis, VA, Fort Gordon, GA, Fort Leavenworth, KS, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School (TJAGLCS), VA, Fort Rucker, AL, and Fort Bliss, NM/TX. The successful candidate will possess the abilities and experiences for planning, analyzing, and designing all new systems and modifications; providing the technical solutions for a dynamic website that pulls content from various local and Army level databases, a browser enabled e-learning solution built around enterprise-level Blackboard Learn.
Administers LLC Blackboard Learn™ Structured Query Language (SQL) database and the analysis, design, and creation of new databases.
Maintains the LLC SQL database with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
Provides maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and integration of systems through database design.
Responsible for the quality control and auditing of the LLC database to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Recommends and develops database strategies to support LLC requirements relating to performance and efficiency of data storage.
Responsible for installation and testing of new versions of Database Management System (DBMS) software, application software, and other software related to DBMS administration.
Provides database security administration of the LLC database to include adding and removing users, administering quotas, auditing, and checking for security problems.
Works with LLC Systems Engineer to perform software installations, and to configure hardware and software so that it functions optimally with the LLC SQL database.
Direct experience with Learning Content Management System (LCMS) (Blackboard Learn™) application programming interface (API) and building blocks
Requires knowledge of operating systems and server software.
Familiarity with military domains (.mil, aka NIPRNET)
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
5 – 10 year’s relevant experience
DoD Secret; Some positions may require up to a Top-Secret
