This position creates productivity linkage between 6 Sigma/Lean methodologies and upgrades to plant processes and equipment. The process engineer requires use of a range of tolls including 6-Sigma-Lean, process development and optimization, and execution of capital projects in support of these objectives.
Promotes plant safety culture and goals. Assure regulatory compliance, including environment and process sfaety, and a safe workplace for all employees. Address hazards, deviations in a timely manner.
Maintains over-all understanding of process capability & capacity
Identifies, defines, and executes requirements for process improvement/productivity projects
Develops process engineering packages for new products or equipment with external support (R&D and Process Technology)
Supports troubleshooting long term process/ production issues
Ensures usage of process related best practices & standards
Optimizes production planning guidnace- Product Wheel, EOQ, etc
Manages minor capital &non captal projects
Facilitates process mapping, Kaizen and value stream mapping events aimed at developing a project pipeline
Develops process control support to ensure process/quality variations are minimized
Supports and facilitates RCAs as well as provides statistical data analysis
Writes and edits SOP/work instructions
Conduct MOC (Management of Change) and PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) including GMP and PSSR
Strong leadership skills
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written, ability to vary style to meet needs
Ability to learn and use Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools to improve plant operations
Fluency in Rockwell/AB PLC programming and controls, and CAD
Experience in an OSHA-PSM manufacturing environment as well as GMP, and FDA compliance
BS in industrial, electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering
3-5+ years of experience in project or process engineering in a manufacturing environment
