Functions Supervised: None
Primary Functions: Solves programming and analysis tasks in the development and support of moderately complex computer applications to accomplish business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrated proficiency as a Programmer Analyst I.
Solve moderately complex programming and integration issues involving multiple platforms by translating client and service requirements into automated applications.
Provides technical training to other personnel in developing and maintaining moderately complex applications.
Assists in developing project plans and control activities based on satisfying client and service requirements.
Develop integrated application systems that improve operating efficiency and quality control.
Prepares project status reports.
Develop in-depth knowledge of current and emerging applications, technologies and standards through continuing education, reviewing technical publications, and participating in professional associations.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of team efforts and results.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Equivalent technical training.
Experience/Skills: Three years in a Programmer Analyst position with two years in the development and maintenance of applications. Skilled in systems methodology, application development and analysis. Efficient using reportwriters, programming languages such as VB.NET, ASP.NET, Visual Basic, C# and JAVA as well as common programming utilities used in a Microsoft or J2EE environment. Strong communications and interpersonal skills required. Experience with financial environments desired.
Tenure: Assignment to the Programmer Analyst I category 10, Programmer Analyst II category 09, Programmer Analyst III category 08, or Senior Programmer Analyst category 07 will be determined by the candidates’ education or experience. Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate’s certifications and/or performance.
