We are currently seeking a SRF CAVITY ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN ….
The SRF Cavity Assembly Technician serves in the Cavity Processing Group and will be responsible for all cavity assembly and test preparation support. This will include but not be limited to preparation of components for assembly, cavity assembly in a clean room environment, and preparation for testing. Individual will work from verbal, written and graphic instructions with little supervision at moderate mechanical and UHV vacuum levels. Tasks will require the use of various hand tools, precision measurement tools, and custom fixtures.
AS degree or High School Graduate with 3 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Compliance with all applicable safety procedures
Perform mechanical assembly of UHV components in accordance with written procedures
Ability to understand clean room practices and carry out routine process operations in an ISO 5 Clean room environment.
Ability to work with ultra-high vacuum systems. This will include leak testing of components and cavity pairs utilizing RGA or other UHV leak detecting equipment.
Ability to develop a basic understanding of cryogenic systems.
Use of Windows PCs and MS Office for accurate completion of electronic documentation.
Acquire and maintain all training required to perform daily activities
Facilities support as required for maintaining the cavity production facilities and keeping facility properly stocked for daily activities.
Maintain housekeeping in the cavity production facilities to facilitate efficient productivity and promote a safe work environment.
Ability to work in a structured environment where all activities follow specific procedures and adherence is documented.
Team skills to work in diverse environments with a broad spectrum of people and personalities.
Ability and willingness to work off-hours, weekends and overtime as required by management.
Mathematics competency with scientific notation, logarithms, and basic algebra.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
Ability to understand, remember, and communicate highly technical information and make decisions
Ability to organize, prioritize and complete complex and varied tasks
Ability to get across various locations on the laboratory site and access work areas

Visual capabilities sufficient to use computer workstations, read drawings and other documents and see safety alarms
Auditory capabilities to hear safety alarms
Must be able to work in an ISO-4 compatible clean room suit for extended periods of time
Must have the ability to qualify for work in radiation areas and chemical areas
Ability and knowledge to operate an overhead crane is beneficial
