Reporting to the Director of Corporate Strategy, a Strategy Associate has the responsibility to drive key activities associated with developing corporate strategy: market research and analysis, strategy and business case development, business process design and execution, and corporate development. Individuals on this team will work cross-functionally to support executive leaders in developing, articulating, and deploying strategic priorities.
The Strategy Associate spends most of the time:
Developing and maintaining deep intimacy of NI’s customer segments, served industries, competitors and partners, and differential advantages, and strategies for profitable growth
Providing recommendations to support investment portfolio decisions and communicating strategic priorities internally and externally
Moving decisions to action with a plan to implement strategic recommendations and managing the execution through cross-functional teams and influence
Creating and monitoring cross-functional processes needed to effectively meet business objectives
Managing the metrics frameworks, reports and process for management team to monitor company health and new initiatives in progress
Identifying gaps in operational execution, developing hypotheses and execute analysis—translating data into meaningful insights and presenting recommendations to key decision makers for improvement
Fostering a culture of change with discipline to track the effectiveness of change through costs and quantifiable business impact
Working closely with leadership team and internal communications to share knowledge and keep employees updated on changes to improve company performance
Producing written content to support strategy development and execution, proposals, and marketing materials
Authoring learning materials and leading training programs on best-in-class strategy development and deployment practices
Managing external consulting relationships
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience* with a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Business
Strong business acumen, MBA or P&L management responsibility preferred
Keen understanding of basic business operations and the organizational levers that drive growth
Robust analytical skill set, Proactive development of internal and external networks
Strategic thinker capable of developing, comparing and contrasting business scenarios
Thoughtful problem solver focused on working “on the business” to optimize results
