Be a part of state-of-the-art analysis for space & missile systems at Lockheed Martin Space. Work on meaningful analyses involving structures, materials and strategic missile defense and space flight systems.

RF and Electronics Packaging Engineering is seeking an experienced and learning electronics packaging engineer who will work closely with senior engineers to create 3D solid models in CREO of space flight avionics, RF modules and electrical ground support equipment. You will support trade studies on electronic packaging design approaches and will provide technical data for informal and formal design review documentation and presentations.

You will coordinate with thermal, dynamic, stress, reliability, EMC, and survivability analyses to assure compliant designs. You will support manufacturing and test disciplines in minimizing cycle time and resolving electronic packaging problems.

You will establish specifications for contract assemblers and raw-material vendors. You will interface with Parts Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and vendor performance. Provide producible designs that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements, and work within an Integrated Product Team environment.

You will prepare all applicable drawings and documentation needed for the fabrication and assembly of the hardware designed.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Entry level experience with Creo CAD (or similar) design and drafting tools is required.
Entry level knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience with Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc).

Desired Skills:
Experience in mechanical design, drafting and manufacturing processes.
Experience in circuit card assembly layout, routing and design and manufacture.
Knowledge of advanced packaging technologies including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), advanced materials and parts. Experience working on the development of spaceflight receivers, amplifiers, EPC's, High Voltage Electronics and Hybrid assemblies.
