WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT MOLDING AND COATING TECH ROLES:
Pay: $18 plus based on day or night shift
Shifts to pick from:
D1 - Sun - Tuesday and every other Wed 6:45a - 7:15p
D2 - Thursday - Saturday and every other Wed 6:45a - 7:15p, 5$ Shift Diff
N1 - Sun - Tuesday and every other Wed > 6:45p - 7:15A, 15% Shift Diff.
N2 - Thursday - Saturday and every other Wed 6:45P - 7:15A, 20 % Shift Diff
COATING TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction, performs a variety of routine, yet critical activities associated with lens coating (dip, flow coating, and anti-fog coatings). The Coating Operator will monitor the Coating Line, both visually and via computer to insure proper operation and note any exceptions to this. This person will also interface with Coating Technicians and Engineers providing both verbal and documented accounts of the Coating Line Performance.
COATING TECHNICIAN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Insure Coating Line is running at full capacity
Basic testing and inspection of lenses and fluids used for cleaning and coating.
Reports equipment, maintenance and material issues to the Shift Supervisor and Process Engineering Group. Conducts routine safety and performance inspections of Coating Line specifically and area of responsibility in general.
Responds to and documents basic alarms and abnormalities.
Routinely changes chemicals in Coating Line.
Track lens rejects and document issues.
Support Process Engineering staff as required.
Maintains housekeeping on Coating Line.
Works closely and in unison with Machine Operators
Equipment Used:
Current laboratory technology and hard coating technology equipment, and chemical test equipment. PC software applications and standard office equipment.
COATING TECHNICIAN REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent GED required. Military experience a plus.
Utilize testing equipment to ensure acceptable coated lens quality per the specifications and run standards.
Record data to identify areas for improvement, special causes and trends.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
Must be self-motivated and willing to participate in a team environment.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel
Work environment (include physical requirements)
Occasional exposure to Laboratory conditions requiring safety equipment.
Routine handling of chemicals and hazardous wastes disposal. .
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Some lifting of up to 50lbs required on occasion.
Occasional weekend work required.
