Location – Northern Indiana or Southern Michigan (ideally within 50 miles of Elkhart, IN)
Summary
Working from a home office with approximately 70% overnight travel during the weekdays, the Marine Boat Builder Technical Sales Application Engineer is responsible for supporting the national sales efforts to Regional Boat Builders. Uses strong technical skills to help train and improve installation of electrical and mechanical product at boat builder assembly plants. Communicates to management the current market conditions and reports ideas to improve sales relations and/or improve the quality of the installations. As required, assist management in the design of programs. Home office equipment and vehicle provided.

Do you have the following?
- 5+ years of Service or Technical Field Sales experience (marine focus preferred)
- Strong Organizational tendencies. ORGANIZED
- Boating or Marine Industry Passion
- Current or expired marine (outboard, inboard, sterndrive) certifications
- Clean driving record and valid drivers license
- Familiar AND comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Previous or current engine certifications (Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Evinrude, Volvo, MerCruiser, Cummins, CAT, etc)
Responsibilities/Requirements for the Marine Boat Builder Technical Sales Application Engineer:
- Communicates sales programs, market conditions and competitive advantages to each Boat Builder to obtain increased sales. Conduct sales and product training with boat builder employees to increase their knowledge.
- Assist the boat builder in making accurate forecasts of product needs along with assisting him/her in product training of his/her sales force. Work with each builder to supply all needed sales information on a timely basis.
- Assist with the control of inventory and analyze sales information to release the product in a timely manner to effect maximum sales and inventory turn.
- Assist the boat builder in training production employees with rigging controls and motors to keep the level of quality at the highest. Ensure that all boat builders are following proper procedures to keep CSI levels high.
- Maintain control of rigging parts at each boat builder and advise builder of inventory needs, as well as, assisting with the placement of orders.
- Assist management with creation of new installation techniques, parts or new trends with installation. Initiate new ideas that will always improve the overall effort.
- Administer all policies as outlined in the Boat Builder Policies.
- Assist the credit Department in the collection of any outstanding accounts and report any activity that may result in a financial loss.
- Assist the boat builder with the timely submission of claims.
- Previous or current outboard (OB), Sterndrive, Inboard, Diesel engine certifications (Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Evinrude, Volvo, MerCruiser, Cummins, CAT, etc)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
