Assist the Section Manager in the planning of resources, scheduling work and housekeeping within his section to ensure quality and safety compliance.
HSE Commitments
Carry out the responsibilities at work related to health, safety and environment as defined in the Health, Safety and Environment Manual and ensure compliances. Report non-compliances and take necessary corrective & preventive measure as required or instructed.
Enforce HSE requirements as prescribed in the HSE Management System on worksites under his charge and stop any work or operation that violates HSE procedures / instructions or would endanger life / property.
Ensure jobs are being carried out in a safe and hazard-free environment.
Ensure that all personnel working on his project comply with safety procedures and HSE regulations.
Ensure that all safety procedures and HSE regulations are complied with, including the application of work permits and the periodic checks on housekeeping and safety equipment used in his Section / Shop and onboard ships.
Ensure that the equipment and tools used by his Section are maintained, including the calibration and inspection of measuring and testing equipment.
Monitor HSE performances against SMART targets set by MD and report results to the Yard Manager and the respective MRs.
Reports to Yard Manager / Assistant Yard Manager on all HSE related issues .
Conduct trade tests and qualify new workers during recruitment activities.
Degree in Naval Architecture / Civil / Marine and Offshore / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 (Motorship), or its equivalent.
Candidates without a degree but have undergone a traineeship in the marine industry and have supervisory experience in a similar field will also be considered.
At least 6 years of relevant working experience, or at least 4 years of supervisory experience in a related industry.
