General Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Plant Engineer will have a very strong focus on process development, growth and profitability. This position incorporates reviewing operational plans, ensuring machinery and processes meet standards, and fixing any mechanical issues that arise with the equipment.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Chemical Engineering field.
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in process technologies and plant operations.
Strong hands-on process and equipment background
Able to travel to the various North American operations
An agricultural background is an asset.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
Assisting Plant Managers with process upgrades, troubleshooting, maintenance issues and scheduling, etc, as required;
Assisting Technical Director with technical questions, quality issues, regulatory issues, research work and product development, etc;
Do bench and pilot lab research work on development of new products and processes;
Do scale up designs, develop process drawings, determine equipment needs, size equipment, purchase equipment and work with plant personnel and contractors to install the necessary equipment to start up new production operations;
Commission new production plants and do training for plant operators;
Maintain good records of all research, regulatory issues, plant designs, equipment information etc;
Develop HAZOP's, Emergency response plans and Standard Operating Procedures
