Your Role and Responsibilities

Job Description:

In this hardware development engineer role, you will be part of the product engineering team responsible for qualifying IBM's next generation Power and Z systems microprocessors. Specifically, you will be developing test programs which are run during HTOL (High Temperature Operating Life) stressing, an essential part of new product qualification.

In a fast paced and dynamic environment, you will collaborate with a broad team including product designers, test and characterization engineers, diagnostics and failure analysis engineers, and system test teams to define, verify, and implement test programs that ensure each product meets its application specification, and bring new IBM systems to market.

As a test engineer in the product reliability team, you will help define and execute reliability stress plans, analyze product test results, determine root cause of failures, and define reliability test specifications.

Reliability engineers will also continually monitor the quality of manufacturing WIP throughout a product's lifetime, and make disposition recommendations based on findings.

About the Team
You will be working with a world class microprocessor development team, with members located at several US sites and worldwide. Team members are primarily based in Essex Junction, VT, Poughkeepsie, NY, and Hopewell Junction, NY.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

A minimum of 3 years of experience in microprocessors or relatable field
BS in EE/CS/CompE/Data Science required. MS preferred.
BSEE/MS Data Science ideal.
Strong programming skills (C / Python / SQL / Java / scripting).
Understanding of microprocessor architecture and circuit analysis.
Understanding of semiconductor processing, reliability, and device physics a bonus.
Strong teamwork and written & verbal communication skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience in semiconductor reliability modeling
Experience with microelectronic test methods
Strong problem-solving skills using statistical analysis and modeling of large data sets
