At Facebook Reality Labs Hardware, we’re developing the future of Portal, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) products. As a FEA Engineer, you will be a member of our Display and Optics organization, taking a part of initializing, evaluating and developing new processes for Facebook’s products. Your job will guide the optimization of designs and process which ultimately have lasting impact on our customers. You will be part of a tight-knit group of highly talented engineers at the forefront of the innovation for FB HW products (AR/VR, portal etc.).
Creating Finite Element Models of various parts based on the analysis results
Preparing strategic planning for handling additional CAE modeling process and participating in FEA and other engineering development
Interpreting analysis results with respect to results obtained by lab testing procedures, converting these results into practical design template based on given geometry model and providing structural support to design and process
PhD or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in finite element analysis including static, dynamic, thermal stress and/or metal fatigue analysis
Experience with solid mechanics and materials properties
Experience with static and dynamic finite element analysis in consumer electronics products
Experience with FEA software such as Abaqus and/or Ansys
Experience with CAD software such as NX, AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Experience with material behaviors and fatigue analysis
Proven communication skills in quantitative terms
Experience with materials characterization methods and tools
