Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mining Application Engineer to join our growing team! The role would be based at our headquarters in Milwaukee, WI. Check out the details below for further information.

Responsibilities

Provide Mining Engineering related application support to the Product Management and Regional Divisions for the sales and applications of Komatsu Mining Corp. (KMC) equipment.
Conduct mining application field studies at current and potential customer mine sites. Domestic and international travel will be approximately 30%, based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Equipment selection and production estimates for different mining applications.
Generate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models and other applicable mining justification methods to identify equipment advantages; mining equipment value analysis.
Support operational applications for Blasthole Drills, Draglines, and Shovels, including both mining operations evaluations for effectiveness, and production studies.
Provide Mining Engineering technical support to all KMC departments which include (but not limited to) design engineering, parts & services, and marketing.
Support New Product Development (NPD) projects with validation efforts.
Deliver presentations to internal employees and external customers on ongoing and completed initiatives.
Provide support to customer specific Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.
Lead “Voice of the Customer” initiatives and visits to determine needs and be able to relay back to the appropriate parties.
Education / Qualification

Mining Engineering Bachelor degree with 0 – 5 years’ experience.
Knowledge of Mining Equipment & methods - Draglines, Blasthole Drills, Shovels, and Haul truck operations.
Strong communication and presentation skills required.
Heavy use of Microsoft programs – Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.
Technologically inclined.
Ability to explain complex procedures in a simple matter to “non-experts”
