Overall Description: Croda is seeking a Reliability Engineer for our New Castle, DE manufacturing site with special emphasis on the site’s Ethylene Oxide facility. The Reliability Engineer creates, oversees and reviews site preventative and predictive maintenance activities of the site. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for continuously improving equipment reliability performance.
Develops and executes small maintenance and capital projects. Participates in the implementation and review of site procedures and standards. Key Duties:Reliability Engineering - 50%Develops and Leads Lagging Reliability AnalysisPerforms and coordinates root cause analysis on failed equipment and systems.Develops and executes corrective actions to reduce equipment unplanned downtime.Develops and Leads Leading Reliability Analysis.Benchmarks equipment reliability performance against industry metrics.Partners with industry experts to improve ability to predict failure typesIdentifies equipment deficiencies using statistical report data measuring site equipment performance.Reviews and analyses existing predictive and preventive maintenance tasks and schedules to ensure optimal use of manpower and equipment.Investigates state of the art predictive and preventive maintenance techniques for inclusion in site program.Lead the site condition monitoring and predictive maintenance program to enhance mechanical integrityDevelop processes, policies and procedures for maintenance and plant engineeringRationalize PM schedules based on need and sound engineering practicePerform Failure and Effects Mode Analysis and using Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques to determine the proper actions to mitigate the risk of failureDevelop and maintain equipment retirement / replacement strategyDrive an integrated risk management approach for SHE, Quality and technical reliabilityDevelop standards (work processes, methodologies, technology solutions) across the equipment lifecycleMaintenance Engineering - 30%Provides day to day technical guidance to maintenance shop.Reviews and develops site technical specifications and procedures.Provides day to day technical support to operations for trouble shooting.Project Engineering - 20%Develops and executes small capital projects including new and retrofit equipment installations.Assists in planning annual turnarounds of major assetsCommunicates future capital needs to Operations Manager.Mechanical IntegrityAdvance the site’s zero leak commitment and implement practices to supportThe Reliability Engineer will perform all duties within the Company’s safety, health & environmental regulations.All other duties as assigned by management.Experience required:2 to 4 years of maintenance or reliability engineering or project engineering in an industrial manufacturing environment required. in Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of equipment fabrication, inspection and repair codes and standards applicable to chemical or petrochemical industry preferred.Physical requirements: Ability to walk, sit or stand for a minimum of 8 hours. May be required to move throughout production areas on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and/or stairs and be exposed to outside weather conditions for extended periods. Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
