Position Summary: Coordinate with Honda R&D Engineering (HGT – Japan and HRA-O – Ohio) and Autoliv Core Engineering to design Seatbelt for Honda/Acura vehicles that meets/exceeds all government and Honda requirements.
Job Responsibilities: Under advisement and mentorship of Application Engineering:
Design, test and release production seatbelt system designs within the Honda Business Unit.
Active member of cross-functional team of design engineers, purchasing, quality, process and launch engineers.
Work closely with Program Management as point contact to Honda Technical Center.
Release internal component drawings, assembly drawings and customer drawings.
Support the Autoliv Product Development System by releasing engineering documents related to product design/development such as DFMEA’s, DV/PV test reports, etc.
Work with team members to coordinate projects from design through production startup including prototype/pre-production builds, testing and establishment of specifications.
Responsible for supporting all technical processes including VA/VE and benchmarking.
Create and run DV/PV test series to meet internal and customer requirements.
Analyze test data, summarize results and create presentations.
Attend telephone conferences which could take place before or after normal working hours.
Bring customer needs to organization and vice versa.
Maintain company image both internally and externally.
Document technical aspects of assigned projects and ensure that data is properly retained.
An Associate Degree and/or currently working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with minimum 3 Years of Experience working as an Engineering Tech or relative field. Other qualifications include:
Work well with customer, excellent written and oral communication.
Computer skills to analyze test results, write reports, prepare presentations, submit internal requests, and respond to emails Facts & Figures of Department (Honda Business Unit).
Previous customer experience strongly preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally, as required (Tijuana, Japan and Ohio).
