The Systems Engineering organization within the Electric Systems division is currently seeking a highly motivated engineer with strong background in modeling and simulation.
Performs physics based analysis for next generation aircraft electric power systems including electric and hybrid propulsion.
Develops closed loop control algorithms to meet system power quality requirements.
Collaborates with rotating machinery, power electronics, circuits and software engineers to develop optimized system designs.
Researches, evaluates and recommends investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization's systems products and services.
Provides analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and makes recommendations for the generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, test, operation and maintenance.
Performs technical planning, verification and validation, and risk analyses for total systems.
Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Supports architectural exploration.
Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into control system and protection requirements, and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experienceOR
Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experienceOR
In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a US Citizen
5+ years of experience in modeling, simulation and analysis of power electronics and/or electric machines
Degree focused in the area of control of electric machines, power electronics, power systems or similar discipline
Physics based modeling experience
Dynamic simulation experience
Controls analysis experience: performance, stability, signal processing
Experience using classical and modern control theory
Experience with electromagnetic, electromechanical, embedded, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
