Assembly Supervisor: Supervises employees within department so as to efficiently produce scheduled component parts and final assemblies of quality and quantity which is consistent with plant objectives.
LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervises assigned employees.
2. Usage of proper tooling.
3. Employee discipline and complaints.
4. Efficient operation of assembly operation.
5. Quality of production.
6. Housekeeping and Safety.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for supervision of all employees assigned to area of responsibility. Trains and evaluates new personnel in accordance with established department policies. Handles employee discipline, grievances, pay rate adjustments and other company policy and working agreements. Plans manpower needs and evaluates parts requirements based on daily work load. Calls manpower requirements to the attention of the Operations Value Stream Supervisor or Human Resources. Makes daily check of labor reports to determine inefficiencies and takes immediate corrective action. Keep informed of and works towards accomplishment of company's EEO policies.
PROCESS CONTROLS 15%
Works closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure line processes are correct and proper tooling is being used on the work stations. Meets required production and quality goals as determined by the department staff.
To insure that all safety rules and programs are followed and maintained within the assigned area of responsibility. Train all Employees in Safety Rules and Procedures and consistently enforce policy. Regularly conduct Safety and Right-to-know training required by OSHA - AWAIR. Responsible for proper ergonomic work station set up, processes, tooling and safety equipment. Insure Employee job rotation according to established guidelines. Conduct an accident investigation with the Employee at the work site within 24 hours of incident. Make reasonable efforts to accept the Employee back to original work area and assist on proper assignment.
Supervise 30 to 50 Assembly line personnel.
Continuous interaction with personnel in the Die Cast, Paint, Welding, Shipping and Receiving Departments. May participate in department planning meetings and task forces concerning quality and other production related topics.
SG10: High School education and experience in a manufacturing environment, or a minimum of two years actual production experience as a Lead Person. Post high school education preferred.
SG11: High School Education and four years direct supervision experience in a manufacturing environment. Post high school education preferred. Continued education or development required.
