Who are we hiring?
The role will work closely with the senior engineers in establishing a suite of tools for providing executives and stakeholders (e.g., Scouting, Strategy) with self-service access to robust and actionable insights. The role will develop tools, web applications, and data infrastructure. The engineer will work with stakeholders to develop these solutions and establish the Knicks as a leader in the use of data to drive performance.
What will you do?
Implement web-based applications and data pipelines for basketball operations.
Execute and support projects through entire software development lifecycle.
Interface with Basketball Operations departments to build visualizations, tools, and reporting capabilities to meet their needs.
Enjoy being a generalist working on both the front-end, backend, and doing anything it takes to solve problems and deliver what users need.
What do you need to succeed?
Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related field.
RESTful APIs to implement CRUD operations
Automated unit and integration testing
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills – must be able to breakdown complex tasks and craft an execution strategy with little guidance.
This position is remote. Any travel will be infrequent.
Ability to work in elite sport environment and outside of standard working hours if required.
