Overview

Fresh Express is seeking for a passionate, enthusiastic, hands-on Automation Project Manager with a specialty in Manufacturing, Packaging, Packaging Automation and Automated Warehousing to work with a high growth, company. Responsible for designing and executing automated teste scripts and checking framework enhancement, presenting process improvement suggestions and generating comprehensive documentation or manuals for well-designated projects. Design process improvement projects and lead in-house automation. Keep abreast of latest developments in industrial automation technology and introduce them to plant wide operations to achieve cost savings and improve productivity.

This individual oversees projects in areas such as warehouse construction and planning, packaging, mechanical and electrical for manufacturing and direct activities, so that all projects assigned are on-schedule and within food safety and quality standards within cost objectives. The candidate for this position will have a strong background in perishable food manufacturing process and project management, automation for refrigerated products supply chain.

Position Responsibilities

Responsible for overall Project, Controls (electrical, pneumatic, etc.), and Software Design Devise, build up, mount and maintain instrumentation and control systems that sense, quantify and run functioning process.
Make sure that field devices, instrumentation systems, communication networks and interferences are working properly.
Manage system projects, changes and upgrades. Devise specification and documentation for automation design.
Troubleshoot the system and keep up to date with the latest technology.
Performs regular preventive upholding to make certain that equipment's maintain to run smoothly.
Participate in Preventative and Corrective Maintenance Programs to improve automation. Keep track of engineering changes and update all documents.
Assist in setting up new machines and transferring equipment at different plants.
Create controls/electrical schematics and direct others in the creation of schematic.
Create/debug ladder logic and assist others in same. Provide direction and technical support to field programmers and technicians.
Support product development to include existing and new product lines. Coordinate scheduling, purchasing, and budgetary proposals.
Responsible for writing scope of Work, equipment specifications and negotiating contracts with contractors, vendors, architects, and any other necessary person(s)
Secure licenses and building permits, and ensure the delivery of equipment and materials to sites under construction
Ensure that issues that may arise in the course of executing a project, including weather condition or other emergencies, that may pose a delay in the project completion, are resolved

Qualification and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 6- 10 years' successful experience manufacturing, packaging and warehousing automation project management preferably in food processing. Two to three years of experience as a supervisor / manager.
Design and have constructed an automated warehouse project (AS/RS) that upon completion delivered savings results and desired service levels.
A minimum of 5 years' experience managing a significant project of a large manufacturer in the USA and Overseas.
Experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principles is preferred
Broad knowledge of material handling, warehouse, packaging, automated warehousing and mechanical and electrical related projects
Excellent computer skills and proficient in CAD, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Excels at operating in a fast-paced environment
Preferred PMP/PMI Certification

The Successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in:

Design and Construction of Refrigerated Storage System and Warehouse Automation

Supply Chain Optimization

Integration of Automation Systems with Corporate Management Software (ERP, MRP)

Ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously and work in fast-paced environment

Ability to pay close attention to details

Organization - ensure that all project documents are captured in the project and files are categorized and well organized

Resource Planning - assist with providing information to map out ongoing projects for review against other work in progress

Oversight - manage the schedule throughout the project lifecycle to track progress and make necessary adjustments for any changes that may be necessary

Approvals - secure approvals at all stages of the workflow process

Liaison - acts as the primary liaison among internal departments

Creative Direction - assist our team with communicating creative direction regarding project accounts from time to time
