Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop polymer compounds to improve performance of Trelleborg products
Pre-development on applying new technologies in and on polymer materials
Conduct Tribology studies and testing
Monitor and evaluate new polymer, filler, and process technologies
Investigate the influence of formulation and processing variables on material properties
Collaborate in international material development projects
Help manufacturing units with property and processing issues
Support TSS activities to achieve and maintain compliance to legal, industry and customer requirements.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
Master’s degree or PhD in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field preferred.
Knowledge of a broad range of polymer technologies and types preferred.
3 years of experience in polymer development of engineering plastics and compounds preferred.
Polymer synthesis background, experience with high performance polymers, with PTFE compounds and with composites are an asset.
