Field Service Engineer
Durham area
£30,000 with Realistic OTE £45,000
Full Time, permanent position
We are looking for a Field Service Engineer who is great at fault finding, ideally with a background working as an engineer on recycling equipment such as balers and compactors, or with forklift engineering experience or an REME background, to attend customer sites and to carry out engineering tasks to equipment as part of our Field Service Engineer team at phs Wastekit. Previous experience with hydraulics, single and three phase electrical equipment and/or pneumatics would be ideal.
A day in life of a Field Service Engineer for phs Wastekit
You will be working from home and visiting business customer sites to repair balers and compactors.
You’ll be liaising with the call controllers and line manager to plan the daily work to maximise our productivity and carry out work to the highest standard.
Many of our customers may have portable or static compactors, and you will be taking ownership of any engineering issues such as testing equipment, fault finding and repairing any equipment in line with our customer service level agreements.
The ideal candidate for the Field Service Engineer role
Your expertise in this role will include good fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with an understanding of hydraulic and electrical circuit diagrams.
You will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic principles and use electrical and hydraulic test equipment effectively.
Naturally we always use good engineering practice and standards and as such you must comply with the regulations and instructions according to our policies.
As with engineering, our records must also be meticulous so you will need to complete all paperwork accurately and clearly. This will include paperwork or electronic data on parts used, time taken and the safe keeping of stock and stock balances / replenishment.
