Montclair State University seeks a performance level Audio Engineer for the Alexander Kasser Theater. The Audio Engineer supports the realization of performances, events and programs held within the Alexander Kasser Theater as well as the ongoing maintenance of those facilities according to the mandate given The Office of Arts + Cultural Programming by the College of the Arts at Montclair State University. Under the supervision of the Director of Production, the Audio Engineer serves as a key member of ACP 's Production Department. The Audio Engineer is responsible for supporting the incoming professional productions and general building A/V functions. We are looking for a creative problem solver who has excellent technical and communication skills, thrives in a team atmosphere, and is articulate, focused, and imaginative.
This person will be proficient in operating and utilizing the show and auxiliary systems. Systems include: Dante Networking Management, Analog RF Communication Systems (BTR/Clear Com), Clear-Speak Integration with Party-Line building system, Analog/Digital Console Operations (Yamaha CL), d&b audiotechnik networked show control, Yamaha & Dante digital recording/patching systems, DCP/IP networking protocols, Axient digital microphone control/operations, frequency mapping/management, and other duties as assigned. FOH mixing required for standard dance and theater performances. This person will work in tandem with the venue Technical Director and Master Stage Electrician to support production and venue needs. Experience with d&b audito tecknik systems and surround setups a plus. Video experiences with Blackmagic Design, Panasonic Projectors, and PTZ cameras a plus.
Flexible schedule, night and evening work in accordance with production schedules
Minimum of three (3) years of experience with an institution, venue, or company in the production or presentation of dance, theater, music, opera or performance art performances
College degree -BA minimum
Ability to manage and synthesize multiple projects simultaneously
Proven communications skills
Open personality & pro-acti ve problem-solving skills
Q-Lab programming experience
Proficiency with Yamaha CL consoles
Previous work in a professional venue setting
