The Jr. Project Engineer performs engineering work for the Project Engineer using normal engineering practices, assist in keeping within budget and timelines. This position helps by utilizing management skills, assist in technical solutions and cost estimates to support the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate a safety-first mindset- both employee safety and food safety
Safely analyze and design project improvement opportunities which align with Bel’s values.
Project ownership including, pre-project planning, quantifying and presenting project options.
Participate in design of installations and project supervision including written proposals, managing execution, cost and deadlines.
Manage the execution of projects while holding contractors accountable. Not only to the scope of the project, but to the policies/procedures set forth by the plant.
Identify and assist the facility with performance issues or improvements.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.
Follow all safety rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others. Follow all food safety procedures.
Follow all environmental protocols as applicable to job to prevent pollution to air, land, or water. Follows all sanitation procedures and work instructions.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Competencies
BS/BA Degree in Engineering and/or equivalent experience is strongly encouraged
Prior project management experience is a plus
Knowledge of budgeting process using MS Excel strongly preferred
Strong MS computer skills usage is strongly preferred
Knowledge of the following programs is a huge plus:
PLC knowledge and programming ladder logic

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office and manufacturing environments. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours a week. There will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., as well as climb ladders. Some travel will be required – US as well as international. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in the plant as required.
