DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTION
Biotech Data Science & Digitalization (BDSD) - Data Science & Statistics (DSS) provides data science, machine learning and statistical analysis support to Bayer Pharmaceuticals internal organizations. Our team provides support to stakeholders by developing and deploying data-driven modeling applications, performing statistical data analysis, conducting research on data analysis methodology improvement.
POSITION SUMMARY
We're looking for someone to help us expand a data science software package to support Bayer Biotech's manufacturing process monitoring and verification. Our data science software package provides multiple functionalities for multivariate data analysis (MVDA) and statistical process control. The current position is to expand the data science software package with complex and sophisticated modeling techniques and implementing the improved algorithms.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform the following tasks related to the software package development:
o Implementation of high-level ensemble MVDA modeling functionalities for the library based on adequate understanding of MVDA algorithm
Required modeling functionalities include
- Batch Level Modeling
- Hierarchical Modeling
o Implementation of data pre-processing if needed
o Implementation of unit testing, regression testing, and integration testing
o Documentation on testing and code development
o Version control for codebase and test data with Git and DVC
REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education Requirement(s):
- Bachelor degree with 3+ years’ experience, Master degree with 1+ year experience, or Ph.D degree
- Major in Computer Science, (Bio)Statistics, Engineering, Applied Math or Quantitative fields
Skill & Competency Requirements:
- Strong programing skills and software package development experience
o Proficient with python, good understanding of object-oriented programming
o Experience in collaboration on software development using Git
o Good understanding of various software testing scheme, e.g., unit test, regression test, integration test
o Experience with software package setup
o Experience with Scikit-learn, Numpy, Pandas
- Strong math and statistics background
o Understanding of basic MVDA algorithm, e.g., PCA, PLS
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $60.00 - $67.00 per hour
