ECS is seeking a Marine Engineer to work in our Silver Spring, MD office.
Provide broad engineering and technical leadership for current and future work under various NOAA maritime support contracts.
Proactively work with clients to identify emerging program requirements and develop support plans.
Effectively work with multi-disciplined projects/teams that may include Government, subcontractors, and peers.
Must be willing to and capable of performing and/or leading ship design studies, requirements development, analysis of alternatives, design reviews, trade-off studies, engineering analyses, and calculations (Structural/Trim/Stability/Damage/Seakeeping/ect) as well as other technical, acquisition and programmatic functions as required.
Additional duties include ship checks, specification development, maintenance/repair/replacement analysis and recommendations, drawing review/modification, technical writing, contract management, and construction oversight.
Effectively interface and liaison with ABS, USCG, and other regulatory agencies. Some travel can be expected to support shipyard availabilities.
BS or higher in Naval Arch, Marine Engineering, or Mech Eng.
Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in an engineering discipline for strategic planning, requirements development/analysis, systems design, engineering, test and evaluation, systems integration, conceptual designs, design implementation, and construction/repair for mechanical, marine, and/or naval engineering projects.
Masters in Engineering, MBA or post graduate degree in management also desired.
Onboard ship and/or shipyard experience highly desired.
Experience as a Port Engineer or experience in vessel shore-side support is also highly desired.
PE in Naval Architecture or other engineering discipline and PMP certification (or equivalent) is desired.
Experience with Naval Architecture software suites (such as GHS, Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, HECSALV, FastShip, etc.) is also desired.
