Lead Mechanical Engineer-Neenah, WI
Currently, we are seeking a Lead Engineer – Mechanical for a P2, Grade 10 position as part of the Family Care R&E team in Neenah, Wisconsin.
The incumbent will serve as a Lead Mechanical Engineer and work with a team to identify problems and develop solutions for Family Care’s tissue and towel businesses including product preference and differentiation, product supply, and margin improvements.
The incumbent will provide leadership and support to the development, design, installation and/or optimization of new or existing assets.
The incumbent will collaborate broadly inside the corporation with R&E, pilot plant, mill and multifunctional team members, and outside the corporation with vendors. The incumbent will report to a Family Care R&E Sr. Manager.
Provide leadership by example in safety, ethics, quality, regulatory, and sustainability, and ensure that all elements of the corporate Human Resources Development and Diversity policy are fully supported.
Manage self in accordance with expected One KC Behaviors.
Coach and mentor team members to increase technical understanding and ability to execute programs to improve Family Care’s business results.
Conceive, develop, validate, and share ideas leading to new or improved products, processes, materials, systems or scientific knowledge aligned with business unit objectives.
Maintain technical and scientific expertise in an area of technology and communicate impact of developments on Kimberly-Clark.
Prepare and implement unit budgets and schedules. Implement appropriate internal controls and standards to ensure compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations.
Drive a culture of protected and documented innovation to protect and defend K-C proprietary technology, products, and business processes through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.
Communicate appropriately and effectively with all customers, internal and external, conducting all communications and transactions with the utmost integrity and honesty so as to build an unimpeachable business reputation.
Education/Qualifications/Experience & Critical Skills Required:
Requires a Bachelor’s or advanced engineering or relevant scientific discipline degree and 4-7+ years relevant engineering experience in a variety of staff or mill assignments.
The preferred candidate will have a track record of engineering leadership and success, as well as a strong fundamental understanding of Family Care tissue technologies, processes, equipment and products.
Experience in the design requirements and safe operation of high-speed manufacturing and/or converting equipment and processes, with an ability to translate that knowledge in support of process, product, and capacity improvements.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or to lead a small team to complete projects within required timeframe and budget. Effective communication skills with the ability to discuss technical issues in a business environment (mill technical, operations resources, suppliers, management, etc.).
