Position Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Reports To: Director of Quality
Location: Midland Battery Park
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for managing auditing compliance to quality system requirements, communication to process engineers, on line and final product data collection and analysis, and support of quality system implementation and compliance.
Oversees all facets of quality plan implementation: sampling, testing, calibration, reporting, data analysis, reaction plans, process control communication, supplier communication, material disposition, training and personnel.
Ensure compliance to and maintenance of all work instructions, forms, records, for manufacturing process (sampling, calibration, testing, reporting, etc.
Analyzes process data and validates results.
Work with plant technical staff and R&D to ensure process capability, compliance and correlation align with quality plan methods and results as required.
Supports Quality Management and plant personnel in meeting the requirements spelled out per XALT Energy’s production APQP milestones, including the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Works with plant Quality Engineers as needed to maintain, adjust and implement testing to support the process control plan.
Assists the lab as necessary in verifying incoming raw materials. Works with Supplier Quality Engineer regarding non-compliance to incoming material specifications.
Maintains a safe workplace and workforce while accomplishing responsibilities.
Collects data on process performance and has input to improve safety and quality.
Participates and maintains a layered process audit system.
Additional Responsibilities may include:
Support of new product launches and production tryouts via special testing for problem analysis or potential change evaluation.
Participation in product/process improvement teams.
Associate’s degree in Technology or laboratory management or related field with experience in ISO-9001 requirements.
2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with automotive quality system requirements.
Experience in laboratory test procedure development, data analysis, instrument calibration/repair.
Strong background in quality and parts manufacture/assembly.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with broad range of people.
Proficiency in MS Office software and experience with document control, process control, basic SPC, Lab Information Management Systems.
Knowledge of basic electrical principles required, knowledge of LI-Ion cell technology preferred.
