Junior/Intermediate Environmental Engineer
Job Description Summary:
To assist full time staff with chargeable in house work that includes reports, research and paperwork.
Position: Environmental Engineering-Geologist or Science Specialist
Academics: Environmental Engineering or Geologist, Science, Research Technology or other related field from a recognized college or university program.
Experience: Co-op program or related experience as a minimum plus OH&S courses. Practical or theoretical exposure with environmental contaminants including oil spill response and remediation, petroleum research, geology, hydrogeology, soil science and water chemistry background; pollution prevention, site sampling and lab analysis. Familiar with government environmental legislation; as well as, report and proposal writing. Excavation and drilling experience an asset.
Project work would consist of assessing residential, commercial, industrial, and marine sites for environmental contaminants; sampling soil, water and building materials for environmental contaminants; identifying contaminants and analyzing lab results; designing programs to clean-up contaminated soil and water using various technologies; directing contractors to carry out remedial plans; liaise with clients, contractors and government regulators; and write reports
